    Why choose therapy?

    Why choose therapy?

The thought of reaching out for support can often feel daunting. Feelings of guilt or shame can bubble up and the idea of being vulnerable can feel overwhelming. Facing these experiences, without judgment or blame, helping you explore these thoughts, feelings and behaviours, is how therapy may be useful to you.
Counselling can offer you an insight, or a reframing, that can enable you to make changes and move in a different direction. Gaining greater self-awareness may feel uncomfortable at times but you set the pace and guide where you want the sessions to go.
The therapeutic relationship underpins everything that takes place and I offer a safe space to look at aspects of yourself and those who play a part in your life. We may explore relationships, patterns in behaviour, aspects of childhood, past and present life events; recognising that who we are and how we respond to circumstances and situations is inter-connected.
Counselling offers a confidential space for you to explore difficulties
that may be affecting you, whether in the short or long term.

    My background

Throughout my professional life, I have been building relationships with young people - nurturing, encouraging and enjoying their company as they transition from adolescence to adulthood.

My approach to counselling grows from this foundation and acknowledges the importance of creating an empathic, respectful and trusting collaborative relationship with my clients, where they feel safe to share issues they are facing. â€‹

I have experience working with anxiety, depression, stress, work difficulties, bereavement, relational issues, health problems, identity issues, self-esteem. I work with teenagers and adults.

I trained as an integrative therapist which enables me to choose from a number of approaches and models of counselling to tailor my therapy specifically for the client.

I work in a trauma-informed way, noticing how the body carries the emotional load. As a therapist we may work with the breath and mindfulness. I am passionate about what I do and it is a privilege to work alongside clients, to help unlock and explore issues and challenges.

If you have any questions about my way of working or would like to schedule a session, please get in touch today.
